Position Reports to: Operations Manager

Job Role: TrainFX are looking for a Field Service Technician responsible for the support of all TrainFX products and services. Ideally, the successful Field Service Technician will be apprentice trained or equivalent and conversant in rolling stock communications and information systems with an electrical engineering discipline. Specialised in house training on TrainFX products will be provided with the candidate willing to learn within a fast moving space of time.The candidate must be willing to spend long periods away from home, work nights, weekends and extra hours when required.

Essential

Requirements:

· Experience of Passenger Information, CCTV, on- train electrical or Communications style systems

· Ability to read schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams and technical specifications

· Proven ability to use test and measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes, multi meters etc

· Highly organised, efficient and has good attention to detail

· Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer facing skills

· IT literate with understanding of computer operating systems (ideally Linux/Fedora)

· Produce relevant reports and information to management as required

· Flexible and able to work unsupervised, away from home and unsocial hours

· Willing to learn new skills

· Holder of a current diving licence

Ideal Requirements:

· Personnel Track Safety certified

Salary: The role will be salary based, Competitive with company vehicle,

mobile phone and laptop.
