The TrainFX CCTV system can provide either IP based or analogue capture solutions from cameras located within the car or adjacent trailer cars and external such as forward facing or pantograph cameras to a highly reliable ruggedised Digital Video Recorder (DVR).

The DVR contains a removable hard drive for storage of all imagery from cameras designed specifically for 24/7 surveillance operation. The solution provides a high level of reliability and can store up to 30 days (720 hours) of data dependent on configuration.

 

An on-train Ethernet back-bone may be utilised by the DVR in multi recorder systems to provide a configurable level of redundancy such as secondary recording of the leading forward facing camera, and to provide expansion capabilities to the system.

The system captures and compresses the imagery using Motion Pictures Expert Group 4 (MPEG4) and H264 hardware technology with a capability to capture full colour D1 PAL resolution imagery at 25 frames per second (fps).

 

The TrainFX DVR is equipped with a high level of self monitoring and self recovery functionality provided by independent watchdog processors which can monitor and recover system faults even when the main processing board is hung. 

 

The TrainFX Screening and Exploitation workstation provides the capability to search and screen imagery based on camera location, vehicle ID, date/time and geo-location. The software provides an intuitive graphical user interface with imagery time-line, classical video controls and situational awareness through mapping and auxiliary data.

 

Imagery data can be exported to provide data of acceptable evidential standard.
